Jansen serves as Coordinator for AI Strategy at Stockholm Resilience Centre, where he helps shape the integration of artificial intelligence into research, communication, and administrative processes. His role involves developing AI integration strategies, ensuring GDPR and AI Act compliance, and delivering training to researchers and students on responsible AI use. He focuses on making AI accessible and beneficial while navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring ethical implementation.
Jansen holds a Master's degree in Social-ecological Resilience for Sustainable Development from Stockholm University (2020-2022), making him an alumnus of Stockholm Resilience Centre. He also has a Master’s degree in Ecology from the University of Antwerp. His academic background provides him with deep understanding of interdisciplinary research environments, which he combines with technical AI expertise. Before his current role, Jansen worked as a Research Assistant at The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (2022-2025), where he implemented AI-enhanced research tools, boosted team productivity through AI integration, and led AI adoption initiatives. During this period, he organized and hosted staff development sessions focused on understanding and leveraging AI in the workplace, delivering key lectures and hands-on demonstrations. Jansen also contributed significantly to high-impact research, being the second author of the "Anthropocene Traps" paper, which achieved 30,000 downloads and a 625 altmetric attention score.
