Johannes Ernstberger oversees the Centre's external communications
Johannes Ernstberger joined the Stockholm Resilience Centre in 2022 to lead the Centre's media relations, ensure high visibility in national and international media, and strenghten the Centre's digital presence. As part of his role, he writes science news and produces multimedia content for the Centres website.
Before joining the Centre, Ernstberger worked with in science and policy communications for several years at Stockholm International Water Institute and Stockholm Environment Institute. He also has a background in journalism working as a reporter for local newspapers in Sweden.
Ernstberger has a BSc in human geography and a MSc in Agroecology. For his master thesis he studied why and how smallholder farmers in Tigray, Northern Ethiopia, use trees within their agricultural systems. Furthermore, he has studied a one-year journalism programme at Södertörn University.
